Chairman & Managing Director of Varun Industries Ltd[1], Mr Kiran Mehta mentors one of the 50 fastest growing mid-sized companies in India. Being one of the largest conglomerate corporate houses in India, it has business interests in various sectors such as mines and minerals, oil & natural gas, stainless steelware, wind power energy, supply chain management and trading. It has been ranked among the top 500 companies by ET, Business World, and Dun & Bradstreet[2],among others.

Personal Life

Born on 10th September, 1960, Mr Mehta hails from a Jain Marwari family in Rani, a small village in Rajasthan. An ardent follower of Sai Baba, he is engaged in community development, especially in the areas of education and healthcare. He is on board with several charities both in his personal & corporate capacity. In 1989, Mr Mehta & Mr Kailash Agarwal (MD, Varun Industries Ltd)[3]- incorporated Varun Continental as a small trading house dealing in stainless steel kitchenware, household goods, and other utility items. The journey has today come a long way from a small trading house to a diversified business conglomerate involved in various businesses in India & globally.

Assisted by his two sons in managing the day-to-day activities within the organisation, his elder son, Mr Varun Mehta heads the International Marketing Operations for Varun Industries Ltd, while his younger son, Mr Mehul Mehta heads the Strategy & Planning for the company's Madagascar operations.

Awards & Achievements

The organisation has been recognised as "Star Trading House" by the Govt of India. Further, the company has won several awards consistently since 1996 such as EEPC Star Performer, FIEO Niryat Shree, National & Best Exporter Awards from Government, etc. Also, he has received Priyadarshini Award presented by Dr. Manmohan Singh for his outstanding services, achievements and contributions.[4] [5]
